Boston-Area Students Rally to Demand Just CORI Policies : APR/11/08 - Students from a dozen area schools and universities demonstrated in Boston Common for Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) reform. CORI laws make it difficult for people with records to get jobs, housing, credit and student loans. The students and passers-by signed a giant 11 foot letter to the chairmen of the Massachusetts Joint Committee for the Judiciary demanding justice and an end to discriminatory practices because of CORI.

Police Attack Wobblies March in North Providence : AUG/11/07 - Providence RI, Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) march on Jackies Galaxy, a local restaurant chain supplied by HWH/Dragonland in NYC, a supplier notorious for slave labor conditions and a lack of basic labor rights. A few blocks before finishing the march North Providence police brutally tackled two of the marches after they moved to the sidewalk too slowly, both were arrested and one suffered a badly broken leg in the attack. Harvard Students Rally for Campus Security Officers : MAY/2/07 - Students dedicated to supporting Harvard security officers in their first union contract negotiations rallied on campus today. Their message was that at one of the most prestigious and wealthy university in the world, it is shameful that workers are still lacking living wages, fair grievance procedures, and a safe and respectful work environment.

Boston March for CORI Reform and Jobs : APR/19/07 - The Boston Workers' Alliance (BWA), in coalition with over 50 community organizations staged a March for Jobs and CORI Reform.   Over 500 people marched from Roxbury Crossing T Stop on to the Boston Commons, and then inside the State House to demand immediate reforms to discriminatory criminal background check laws.  The BWA is an organization of under- and unemployed workers united to end CORI discrimination and the crisis of joblessness.
